St. Mary the mother of God

Blog 22

The One who was born of St. Mary is the incarnated God, and so the church calls her the mother of God. The gospel of St. Luke mentioned that St. Mary will born the Son of God. Based on that we can call her mother of the Son of God. “Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God” (Luke 1:35).
Also, in the same gospel and same chapter Elizabeth called her mother of my Lord, "why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me" (Luke 1:43)
The humanity of Christ is always united with His divinity, because there is no time when the humanity existed without the divinity. As a result, Christians define Christ as the incarnate God, and this union occurred without change in the nature of Christ.
