Homily on Judges (Ch. 6) by Origen (2)
The one who has the name of Christ is the person of the East, "Behold, the Man whose name is the BRANCH! From His place He shall branch out, And He shall build the temple of the Lord" (Zec 6:12).
Heretics use the name of Christ to attack the people of the Lord.
Neither the Midianites, Amalekites, nor “the people of the East” will be able to plunder the one who is established at the highest summit of spiritual understanding.
Do not receive the word of God with Jewish understanding (seed=letter), but become like those who ascend from the lowness of the letter to the highest of the spirit (fruit=spirit).
